White Sox 4, Cubs 4

Jim Thome hit two home runs, two singles and drove in three runs Monday as the Chicago White Sox played a 4-4 tie with the Chicago Cubs.

The Cubs scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game, and the teams halted play.

Thome, Chicago's designated hitter, hit solo homers in the sixth and seventh innings, raising his spring training total to four. The White Sox had given Thome extra at-bats in recent minor league games so that he could get his stroke down.
